About

This Victim-centred Repository is achieved under the VicTory – Restorative and victim-centred approach to mitigate hate and (violent) extremism – project.

It aims to mitigate the still-existing gaps in accessing and implementing the right information on victims’ rights and support.

Consequently, the repository is focused on victims of hate and extremism and it can be used by victims or professionals working to support them.

Main
Concepts

Hate

Stable negative disposition towards an object/person, feeling extreme aversion for or extreme hostility towards it (Fischer, 2018).

Extremism

Attitudinal or behavioural tendencies that are considered outside the norm, far from what the majority of people consider correct or reasonable.

This is something subjective and culturally dependent, since something will be considered “extremist” based on a reference group, culture, or ideology (Moyano et al. 2021).

To ease these goals, the platform echoing the VicTory project focuses on six main concepts:

Hate

Extremism

Victimisation

Rights

Support

Recovery
